Here's a handy link for checking you and your kids' BMI (body mass index), I've just checked mine and apparently I'm a bit overweight for my height (yikes !!!). I wasn't happy with my current weight, and bought some dumballs and skipping rope earlier today, and renewed my subscription with Demand Fitness. Alhamdulillaah I've never had a problem with my weight, apart from wanting to gain more, and after each child I've quickly gotten back to my usual weight, but after my recent child I haven't. I do put it down mainly to the amount of biscuits I eat ( I luuuuurve custard creams :D) plus I'm driving now, so I don't walk as much as I used to, and probably lack of exercise, so Insha Allaah things have got to change, starting with the biscuits! I'm going to 'try' and limit myself to two in the morning with my cup of tea, and the same in the evening, I won't tell you how many I normally have :/
Ok well I'm off to make some food for the kids, and prepare for my first fitness class later on, insha Allaah.

keep up the posts:
Your number one fan!!! (u know who i am lol)
Aw, Masha'Allaah, nice to know I've got a fan, Lol.
Yeh, I suppose I haven't done too bad alhamdulillaah, maybe it's all catching up with me now :( I just told my mum, she was shocked. xxx
Assalamu aleikum
We're in the same boat then :)
My mum recently told me if you're over 80cm (appr. 31.5 inches) around your waist, your health is in jeopardy!! I'm in real trouble, I need to get my waist more than 20cm thinner :( and I don't eat biscuits every day! I was always very thin, but coming to the UK changed that (I could say it's the kids, but it wouldn't be the whole truth - I was still thin after number three). Minced meat is fatter here, milk is fatter, the car is used whenever you go out, biscuits and junk food are readily available.
I personally always prepare our food, but meat twice a day is too much! I used to eat too much biscuits, but have already cut them down and try (!) to limit anything sweet for Friday. I've cut down the sugar in my tea. I've started moving more too, alhamdu lillah.
Another culprit is that I always eat what's left-over after we've finished eating. I'm the family's "hoover" picking up the crumbles...
It helps to have something to drink before and after a meal as well, to avoid over-eating.
May Allah help us get into shape again, ameen.
Wa alaykum assalam sis,
Hope you and your family are well. Your doing better than me Masha'Allaah, it's true though over here there's alot more fat in things, and I also drive more than I walk, I used to walk everywhere before, you get lazy with the car subhanAllaah, but it's a blessing to have one though, alhamdulillaah.
I think the key to maintaining a healthy weight is a balanced diet, eating things like biscuits etc in moderation, combined with regular exercise.
